Colored Contacts

I admit I was one of those girls who wondered why anybody would ever wear colored contacts. I guess like the mentality of girls who actually need to wear glasses versus girls who wear lens-less glasses. Lens-less = senseless!

Saab Magalona is one of those who used to wear colored contacts.

"My eyesight is very poor and I have worn contacts every single day of my life since I was in grade school. I used to wear glasses but I would always accidentally break them so my mom decided to teach me how to wear contacts." -- Saab Magalona

"I wear them not because I don’t want to look Filipina, I wear them simply because they make my eyes pop out more! (*u*)" -- Saab Magalona

Now I know! But I haven't tried wearing colored contacts. And I guess, I gonna try it soon.

The Newest GMA Telebabad: Kahit Nasaan Ka Man

Kahit Nasaan Ka Man or Wherever You Are(international title) is a Filipino drama series broadcast byGMA Network starring Julie Anne San JoseKristoffer Martin and Lucho Ayala.

"Noong nabalitaan ko na magkakaroon ng Kahit Nasaan Ka Man , I got so excited! Excited to see and watch Julie Anne San Jose on television every weekdays. I am a big fan of her and I just can't imagine na ayun , sa tinagal tagal na niyang binibigyan ng ganong opportunities , sa wakas tinanggap na niya. And we understand naman na kaya niya hindi tinatanggap yung projects na usually teleserye ay dahil nag-aaral siya, pumapasok siya everyday so wala siyang time para mag taping. She focuses more on her studies so lumabas lang siya sa Tv every weekends. And we're so happy na maluwag yung schedule niya at tinanggap niya yung project na inalok ng GMA. And we are sure na magiging mataas ang ratings ng show na ito."

Sino ba talaga ang naging inspiration niya sa role niya dito, bilang isang bulag?

"Si Fatima Soriano. She can't see, and then she really loves music. And she's very, very close to God. Actually na-meet ko na siya before. Nakaktuwa po talaga siya kasi despite of her illness, pinapatuloy pa rin niya ang buhay niya sa pagkanta, sa pag-appreciate sa music. Siyempre 'yung relationship niya with God, doon po ako kumukuha ng inspiration." -- Julie Anne

Here's the synopsis and teaser of Kahit Nasaan Ka Man

When young Leandro finds himself orphaned with nowhere to go, he ends up on the wrong side of the law. To escape capture after a heist, Leandro ends up hiding in the yard of the blind young Pauline who, at the time, was practicing her singing with her mother. Enchanted by Pauline’s voice, Leandro ends up returning to the house night after night to hear her sing.
Until one day, when Leandro sees Pauline’s mother in an accident. That night, when Leandro visits Pauline, he sees a girl broken–with the only light in her life extinguished. Compelled by compassion, Leandro enters her room to comfort her. Although unnerved by a new presence in her room, Pauline softens when Leandro starts singing to her an old melody; a song that speaks to the sadness in Pauline’s heart. And so she began to call him her angel, sent by her mother to take her grief away.
But how long can a boy keep pretending to be angel at night, when by day he is a street urchin categorized as anything but?
Leandro decides to change his ways for Pauline, but it is too late. He is caught and sent away. By the time he is able to come back for Pauline, the girl is gone. The remaining reason for his changing his life for good has been taken from him. And so he decides to take his own life.
That is, until he is saved by Theresa. After losing her husband and child due to a road rage incident, she could understand the despair Leandro feels at being left alone in the world. So she decides to adopt him. And together, she wants for them to move on. To start a new life together. And this is when Leandro’s story begins its new chapter.
Graduating valedictorian in his high school class, the teenaged Leandro is excited to begin his new life in college–having been given the opportunity to audition for a prestigious music department in a state university. But when Theresa finds out what he is planning, she adamantly opposes his plans.
And so Leandro is forced to keep his musical dreams restrained to poetry–poetry that gets commissioned by a new friend, John, who has finally found the courage to court his childhood best friend–Pauline.
Although John finds Leandro’s poems a little cheesy, he thinks highly enough of them to give the words to Pauline–who, in turn, loves Leandro’s writing, and gives them melody. Making songs out of them. Songs she records because of a misguided dream unwittingly given by her loving grandfather Tino.
Pauline’s father Ernest (Michael de Mesa) has been in jail for around a decade now, for a single mistake that took the lives of two innocent people. Pauline thinks, because of Tino’s vague answers about clemency and presidential pardons, that if she becomes a successful and popular singer, she can ask the President for her father to be released from jail. For this to happen, Pauline needs John’s help to make her famous.
And to help Pauline, John will turn to Leandro. Not knowing that by doing so, he is bridging the gap between two souls who has longed for each other since they were children. Not knowing that he is creating his own rival when he introduces Leandro to Pauline.
But John has made his intentions for Pauline clear to Leandro. And Pauline has made her stand clear to John, that she sees him only as a friend. Where will Leandro put himself between the two?
Friendship, family, and love will be tested in Kahit Nasaan Ka Man, as the sins of the past begin to affect the present and their futures, and music becomes their only escape.

My Husband's Lover

Not every catholic is straight. Get over it. I feel the need to talk about the current issue everybody’s tweeting about. The CBCP (Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines) has given a statement about GMA 7′s new teleserye, My Husband’s Lover, which focuses on a married man’s affair with another man. To clarify, no it’s not being suspended and CBCP isn’t asking for its suspension either (the article you probably read is a satirical piece).

“Malaking pag-aaral ang dapat na gawin sa mga bagong teleserye tulad ng ‘My Husband’s Lover’ na sana maisa-alang-alang na nasa isang bansa tayo na mayroong kultura na pinapahalagahan ang usaping moral o mga bagay na saklaw ng moralidad.Ito ang dapat na isaalang-alang ng mga gumagawa ng teleserye” - CBCP-ECY executive secretary Fr. Kunegundo Garganta to Radyo Veritas
I’ve personally never had the chance to see the show but I’ve heard great reviews about it. Rumor has it that it’s the highest rating show on GMA7. The highest rating shows usually have a bajillion commercials but according to my sources this one barely has any because companies do not want to be associated with a “gay-themed” television show. Okay lang when the TV show involves kidnapping, raping, drugging, blood & gore, violence, domestic abuse, racism, discrimination, bed scenes, etc. basta ang mag-diyowa dapat man and woman. Medieval much?
I believe My Husband’s Lover has an MTRCB rating of SPG (Strong Parental Guidance). After the reviews that I’ve heard, I don’t think they’re violating anything. This actually makes me want to start watching the show!

Katy Perry’s New Video for Roar

Much has been said about Katy Perry supposedly ripping off Sara Bareilles’ song, Brave

Here is Katy Perry’s new video for her single, Roar

I can’t really say anything about Katy Perry copying Bareille’s song. Some say she was “inspired” by it. I am also a fan of Katy Perry’s and how she writes a lot of songs about being the best version of yourself. Both Perry and Bareille’s songs have one message: stop being a push over and finally start speaking your mind.

I love both songs, as in kilabot levels, and OMG how hot is Katy Perry in that new video?! She looks fabulous, absolute body peg.
What do you think?

Jean Napoles (Daughter of Janet Napoles)

If you’d like to see where some of that 10 billion went, here are some photos of Napoles’ daughter Jeane:

WHY is she at  2011 MTV Movie Awards? At backstage ? In a Herve Leger dress, Chanel clutch and pumps. She also arrived in a limousine. She’s also gone to the Grammys and other award shows. It’s all on her old Tumblr page which she hasn’t deleted yet God knows why. Visit it here: http://jeanenapoles.tumblr.com

THINK About This : We Can't Stop

I know Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop is a fun song to dance to but I think we should be aware that it’s totes about drugzzz.

Check out the lyrics:
La da di da di
We like to party
Dancing with Miley
Doing anything we want
This is our house
This is our rules
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
And everyone in line in the bathroom
Trying to get a line in the bathroom
We all so turnt up here
Getting turnt up, yeah, yeah
Let’s pretend THIS IS OUR RULES is intentional because Miley is gangsta like that and she “bout dat life” … I don’t hate Miley Cyrus, ok? Anyway, so let’s over-analayze the lyrics of We Can’t Stop.
  • WE LIKE TO PARTY = ‘party’ is another word for the drug MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy. (P.S. Madonna’s latest album is called MDNA. Go figure.)
  • DANCING WITH MILEY = listen closely, she pronounces Miley as Molly. Molly is to ecstasy as Mary Jane is to marijuana.
  • WE CAN’T STOP = ecstacy keeps you up all night.
  • TRYING TO GET A LINE IN THE BATHROOM = cocaine is usually snorted in ‘lines’ like how you see it in movies.
  • TURNT UP – term usually used to mean so wasted on either alcohol or drugs.
Don’t you just love over-analyzing things? Yes! So dance all you want to this song but be aware of what it means and don’t believe that drugs are cool, please!:)

Pork Barrel Scam

If you are apathetic about what’s been happening lately, you’re probably still in high school, not paying taxes so you don’t care. I think you should, though. It would be nice if you cared what your parents are going through. Nahihirapan na siguro silang paaralin ka, malaki pang bahagi ng mga sweldo nila ang kinakaltas para sa tax. Sa tax na napunta lang pala sa bulsa ng mga buwaya.

This is Janet Napoles and her husband. They set up Non-Government Organizations which different politicians supported using their Priority Development Assistance Fund, more commonly known as pork barrel.
How nice of these people to help out NGOs such as Masaganang Ani Para sa Magsasaka Foundation Inc (MAMFI)Social Development Program for Farmers Development (SDPFFI)Pangkabuhayan Foundation Inc (Pang-FI), right?
WRONG. Apparently, the NGOs are fake. The money’s not going to the farmers or whatever her NGOs claim to be helping!! This case is being called the 10 Billion Pork Barrel Scam.

Me, Myself and I

"Knowledge of the self is the mother of all knowledge. So it is incumbent on me to know my self, to know it completely, to know its minutiae, its characteristics, its subtleties, and its very atoms."

I have to live with myself and so
I want to be fit for myself to know,
I want to be able as days go by,
To look at myself straight in the eye.
I don't want to stand with the setting sun
And hate myself for the things I've done.
I don't want to hide on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself as I come and go
Into thinking that nobody else will know
What kind of man I really am;
I don't want to dress myself in sham.
I want to go with my head erect,
I want to deserve all men's respect
And in this struggle for fame and pelf
I want to be able to like myself.
I don't want to look at myself and know
That I am a bluster and empty show.
I cannot hide myself from me;
I can see what others can never see;
I know what others can never know,
I cannot fool myself, and so
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.
